My Story

Hello! My name is Adelajda Skopeci. I am 5 years old and my birthday is on March 3rd. I am doing well and in good health. My favorite color is red and my future dream is to become a teacher. I go to preschool kindergarten and enjoy learning to read, write and draw. I enjoy playing with the dolls we have there and have made many friends while we play in groups. After I return from kindergarten I stay at the house and continue to play with dolls and watch cartoons. I have an older brother who goes to school. When he studies his class books and does his homework, I stay by his side and color the drawings that he and my mother makes for me. We play together inside the house and he cares for me.

My family is contained of five persons. We live in Katjel and our house offers appropriated living conditions. I have in my family my father, mother, grandmother and a brother. My brother is 9 years old. He goes to fourth grade at school and he is also registered in the sponsorship programme. We both frequent the Bible classes and church services and we receive help form Adopt a Child. We benefit food packages every six weeks and we also benefit dental and medical care provided for us. My family owns land, but we are not dealing a whole lot with agriculture and we don’t keep animals to benefit. My father emigrates in Greece and there has works for a period of three months in agriculture. The rest of the year, my father stays with us and while he is in the village, he does different jobs, as offered form the people who hire him, in agriculture or construction. My grandmother is retired. She receives a small pension from her previous job in the village. When my mother is cooking, cleaning and dealing with housekeeping, my grandmother cares for me. My mother is also dealing with gardening from spring to autumn. She plants vegetables that we consume fresh and bio till autumn and she has also done the canning from the vegetables that are not consumed and she does the canning together with my grandmother. My family is living with low income because my father works only a few months in Greece. I am very thankful to the Adopt a Child programme for the benefits God bless you!
