My Story

Hello! I send you many greetings hoping you are in good health, and you are enjoying the life with your family. I want to share with you some news about my family and me. I am Marvin Estuardo Gomez Simaj and I am 12 years old. At the moment, we are still attending the Catholic Church every Monday and Friday. We are grateful to the Living Water evangelism team who encouraged us to continue seeking God. So, we are sure of our salvation in Jesus. My mother`s name is Petrona Simaj Garcia, and she is 33 years old. She is a housewife, and also, and she continues raising hens for selling and getting some income.  My father`s name is Domingo Gomez De La Cruz and he is 29 years old. Currently, he earns a living by working as a farmer and a day laborer in order to support the family. My parents are making an effort to support us with school expenses, and it is very difficult for them because the school supplies are very expensive, and they do not have a stable job. Thank God, all my family is in good health.

This year I am in 5th grade at school. I receive classes face-to-face. I love this study method because I like to spend time with my classmates. My native language is Maya Quiche, but I would like to learn English; I think this is an interesting language. In the future, I want to become a teacher. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because we eat “tamales” (a typical dish), and we light fireworks. Among sports, I prefer to play soccer. I enjoy drinking “Incaparina” (a hot beverage). For my birthday I like to have a “piñata” (a kind of puppet filled with candies). My family is grateful to LW because we have been blessed in our lives for instance, with the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support also, I also feel so happy when I receive the Christmas gift at year`s end. We are a humble family, so our current needs are corn and groceries. Every blessing to you!

Warm regards,

Marvin Estuardo Gomez Simaj
