My Story

I greet you cordially and I wish you many successes in your daily activities. In this opportunity, I want to share with you some news about my family and me. I am Juana Isabel Riz De La Cruz, and I am 20 years old. I am not studying as you know, but I am working in Guatemala City in a tortillas business. I help with chores at home in my spare time.  Later I would like to become a soloist. My native language is Quiche Mayan, so I would like to learn English; I think this is a very interesting language around the world. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because we light fireworks and eat “tamales” (a typical dish). My favorite beverage is Coca-Cola. I want to let you know that I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of financial resources. Nowadays, we continue attending Prince of Peace Church every Monday and Saturday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who encouraged us to continue seeking God. So, I am sure of my salvation. Thank God all my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Inocencia De La Cruz Riz and she is 49 years old. Currently, she weaves typical clothes and raises hens to sell and also for family consumption. In addition, she sells natural medicines. My father`s name is Pedro Riz Quino, and he is 52 years old. He lives and works in the United States as you know. Unfortunately, 7 months ago he was crossing the street when the traffic light turned red, and the police took him to jail.
Since he is not working, he has not been able to send us any support. I ask for your prayers for him and for the family because we are so sad. At the moment, he has a friend that is helping him with the legal processes in order to get his freedom. We are a big and humble family, so our current needs are groceries. We are grateful to you and to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the special gifts that you have sent to me on several occasions. Thank you for everything you do for me. May God reward you in every area of your life!

Lots of love,

Juana Isabel Riz De La Cruz
