Hello! My name is Carlos Grave Luis, and I thank you for taking time to read my personal information. I am a 13-year-old boy. Thank God, my family is in good health, and so am I. I attend 5th grade, and I receive classes at school all week. I am doing well in my studies. I help my family with some work in my spare time. Let me tell you that I missed the meals from the feeding program while it was closed because of the pandemic. Now, I am attending the program, and I get there by walking about 10 minutes. My father earns a living by working as a farmer and day laborer. In addition, he also grows herbs and veggies to sell and sustain our family. My mother is a housewife, and she also weaves items to sell and help herself economically.
From time to time, my parents buy some snacks to share all together; I like it when they do it. We are Catholic, and our church is about 15 minutes from home. During the pandemic, we never stopped attending church, but we did it behind closed doors. We own the house in which we live; there are 2 rooms and a separate kitchen. Those are made of adobe, tin sheet roof and a dirt floor. We have running water, but no electricity, so we use candles at night. The room materials are old, the beams have moths, and the roof has holes in it. For now, our greatest needs are groceries. During the pandemic, my family was affected because the crops did not sell very well, so we did not get good income. However, we thank God who blessed us with food parcels through Living Water; it was a big blessing for us. Finally, I want to let you know that the LW team called us and asked for this updated information, so my father provided it to them over the phone. Keep safe. I hope to receive news from you soon. May God bless you greatly!
Lots of love,
Carlos Grave Luis
