My Story

Hello! I greet you cordially by this letter and hope you are doing fine. I want to share some news about my family and me. I am Florinda Morente Ajqui and I am 20 years old. I want to let you know that we are not attending any Church because my father does not let us. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with my mother during the visit, and she is sure to have Jesus in her heart. As you know, I am not studying, but I do chores at home, and I help my parents in the cornfield. My dream is to have a little farm. My favorite celebration of the year is Easter because we eat bread and honey. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. My favorite beverage is fruit juice. I like to cook. I want to tell you that I celebrate my birthday with special food for lunch with my family. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Juana Ajqui. She is 42 years old. At the moment, she grows some herbs, corn, green tomato, “guicoyes” (a kind of pumpkin), and “guisquiles” (a kind of vegetable) to sell and get some income. We have turkeys, a dog, and some goats at home. My father`s name is David Morente Ruiz. He is 40 years old. Nowadays, he continues working as a day laborer. Moreover, he goes to the coast to pick coffee beans for two months during harvest season in order to cover our expenses. As a humble family, our current needs are corn, clothes, and groceries. We are grateful to you and to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental care and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at the year`s end.  Thank you for everything you have done for me. Sending love.  Every blessing to you!

Huge hugs,

Florinda Morente Ajqui
