My Story

It is a pleaure to greet you today. I hope you and your family are doing well. My name is Sheyla Roxana Gutierrez Garcia. I am a 14-year-old girl. Unfortunately, I am no longer attending school because we do not have enough money to support my studies. Now, I stay home and help with the housework and chores. On the weekends, I like to go with my mom to the market to sell our goods. My mother’s name is Juliana Garcia Ajqui. She raises chickens and grows herbs and radishes to sell in the market. She also takes care of a lot of the jobs around the house. My father’s name is Encarnacion Gutierrez Garcia, but he does live with us. He abandoned us a few years ago and does not support us economically. He is a garbage man for the municipality. Thankfully, my older brother, Francisco works as a farmer and helps to support our family.

As a family, we attend the Pentecostal Prince of Peace Church. My mother has accepted Christ into her heart, but she was very grateful for the LW teacher who shared the gospel with her again. She felt reassured in her faith. We are so grateful for everything Living Water does for us, as it is all a blessing. My favorite food from the feeding program is the steak hilachas. My favorite part of the Christmas celebration we do is when we receive gifts. It’s always so exciting. I pray you are doing well, and I ask you to pray for the wellbeing and health of my family.
