My Story

I fondly greet you hoping the Lord is pouring bountiful blessings upon you. This is Mario De La Cruz Grave, and I am 12 years old. Praise the Lord, we continue attending the Prince of Peace Church every Wednesday. We are grateful to the Living Water evangelism team who encouraged us to seek God. My mother`s name is Marcelina Grave Garcia and she is 43 years old. She is a housewife, and she raises hens, pigs, and sheep for selling to get some income. My father`s name is Sebastian De La Cruz Cux and he is 44 years old. Thank God, he continues earning a living by working as a day laborer and goes to the coast to cut sugar cane during the harvest. We grow corn and black beans for our family`s consumption. Thank God, all my family is in good health. We are grateful to LW because we have been blessed in our lives for instance, with the meals, medical, dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to express my gratitude for the Christmas gift that I receive every year.

This year, I am in 5th grade. I am receiving face-to-face classes from Monday to Friday, and I like this study method because it is easier to do my homework after the classes. Thank God, my parents are trying to cover my school expenses even though they do not have a stable job, and school supplies are so expensive that sometimes it is hard for them to cover my expenses. My native language is Maya Quiche, but I would like to learn Spanish and English because I think those are very interesting languages. When I am older, I want to become a policeman or a soldier. I enjoy Christmas time because we can see the fireworks. Among beverages, I prefer to drink “mosh” (a hot drink made of oatmeal). For my birthday, I like to receive gifts. About sports, I prefer to play soccer. As a humble and big family, our priority needs are corn and groceries. I hope you enjoy reading my letter. May God bless you greatly!

Kisses and hugs
