My Story

I am Erika Paola Grave Barrera, and I am glad to greet you affectionately through this. I hope you are in good health. I am fifteen years old. This year I am in eight grade, and I am receiving face-to-face classes at school from Monday through Friday. It takes place from 1.00 pm through 5.00 pm. In those days I hand in my schoolwork to the teacher. I have been doing very well in my studies. I really like to study. I spend my time studying. Thank God, the feeding program is open now. I missed attending it and delicious food from it, the time it was closed due to the pandemic. I get there in forty minutes by walking. My father works as a bus driver with a route from Zacualpa to Joyabaj. Thanks to his work, he provides for my family financially. My mom stays home raising domestic animals. In corn season she goes out to sell some to get some incomes for the house. On weekends we go for a walk, so we have a very nice time together. We do not usually celebrate Christmas. At the moment, we are not attending any church, so one member from the Evangelism team talked to us about God and encouraged us to attend a church and seek God.

We live at my paternal grandmother’s house. We share the household expenses with a sister-in-law who lives with us. There are four rooms and separate kitchen made of tin sheets. The house’s walls are made of mud-brick, the roof of clay roof tiles, and the floor of concrete. It has electricity and running water. The house condition is good. The pandemic affected us almost nothing, thank God. My family and I have been doing well. For that reason, I want to thank to the feeding program for providing us with grocery bags. Corn and food supplies is a basic need at home, so what we received met much of our basic needs. Thank you very much for this support. God bless you greatly! Finally, I want you to know, my mom gave this information to an Evangelism team member to share with you my last news. Take care! I say good bye to you for now.
