My Story

I feel so happy to greet you through this. I am Santos Garcia, and now I am nineteen years old. I no longer attend school. I do not like doing it. So, I work as a housemaid. In this way, I help my family financially. I really missed the delicious lunch of the feeding program during the time it was closed due to the pandemic. It is difficult for me to attend it often due to my work. I am happy because it is open again, thank God, so I get there in half an hour from home by walking. My mom is a housewife, and she also grows herbs and some vegetables for selling. She raises some chickens to sell when needed. In this way, she gets some income for our household expenses. We share some snacks to eat, and we have a good time together. We do not usually celebrate Christmas. Currently, we are attending a Christian Church, located an hour away from home. We got sad at the time when the church was closed due to the pandemic. Thank God, everything has been changing little by little.

We live at my grandmother’s house. There is one room and a separate kitchen, which is made of wooden boards. The house´s walls are made of adobe and wooden boards, the floor of dirt and the roof of tin sheets and clay roof tiles, but some tin sheets are in poor condition, so they need to be changed. It does not have electricity, but we do have running water. Due to the pandemic, there was a shortage, but God has always provided, and he did through the feeding program that provided us with grocery bags in difficult times. It was all a great blessing for my family and me because food supplies are a basic need at home. Thank you very much for this support. As for health, let me tell you that I am sick with gastritis. I have already visited the doctor, and I take medicine at times. Let me tell you that my mom doesn't walk normally because when she was a baby she broke her leg, so now she limps when she walks. Lastly, I want you to know that mom gave this information to an Evangelism team member to share with you my last news. Thank you very much for reading this. I hope to hear from you soon.
