Hello! I hope you are enjoying our Lord’s blessings. I am Elena Maricela Gomez De La Cruz, and I am 12 years old. I am repeating 2nd grade this year, and I am attending school every day. I am learning little by little. I help with the household chores in my free time. I missed the feeding program’s lunches, so I am happy it opened its doors again; I walk for 45 minutes to arrive there. My father works hard to support the family. He is a farmer and day laborer, and he goes to pick coffee beans at the coast during the harvest time. My mother dedicates her time to the family and home. We sometimes buy a snack to share as a family. We do not have the custom to celebrate Christmas because we are at the coast for that time.
We are attending Prince of Peace Pentecostal Church, and it is located 20 minutes from our house. For some time, we were having services with the doors closed due to the virus. We live in my oldest brother’s house, and we do not pay him any type of rent. The house has two rooms and a separated kitchen, and it is made of adobe with a tin sheet roof and dirt floor. We do not have running water and electricity. We have a solar panel and get the water from a well; we use jars to bring home the water. We were a little affected economically by this pandemic. We are a humble family, and we are in need of groceries and clothes. I thank God because we are all healthy. My oldest sister helped me to give this information to an Evangelism teacher. I hope you like my letter.
With much love
Elena Maricela Gomez De La Cruz
