I wish you a brilliant day, and I hope you are doing fine. It is a pleasure to share with you some news about my family and me. This is Santos Florinda Calachij Garcia and my age is 10 years old. This year, I am in 4th grade. I am receiving face-to-face classes every day, and I like this study method because I receive the best explanation from my teacher about homework. My native language is Maya Quiche, but I would like to learn English; it is a very interesting language. In the future, I would like to be a nurse. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas time because we have a special lunch with my family. I like to ride a bike in my spare time. My favorite beverage is “mosh” (a hot beverage made with oatmeal). As a family, we are grateful to LW because we have been blessed through meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I give you thanks for the Christmas gift that I receive every year`s end. Currently, all my family and I are in good health.
My mother`s name is Josefa Garcia Garcia and she is 43 years old. Nowadays, she continues doing chores at home. She takes care of the family and raises hens and turkeys. My father`s name is Benito Calachij Franco and he is 48 years old. He earns a living by working as a farmer, and he continues traveling to the coast to cut sugar cane in order to support the family. Nowadays, my father is making an effort to support us with school expenses, and it is very difficult for him because he is supporting two of my siblings and me. Sometimes I need to buy school materials that are needed for my classes, but he does not have enough resources to cover all expenses because he does not have a stable job. We grow corn and black beans for our family’s consumption. We are a humble family, so our current needs are corn and groceries. We are still attending the Christ Church every Sunday and Wednesday. Thanks to the Living Water evangelism team who encouraged my mother to continue seeking God. She has already Jesus in her heart. Sending love. Every blessing to you!
Hugs with much love,
Santos Florinda Calachij Garcia
