My Story

I fondly greet you, hoping you are doing well. My name is Selvin Alexander Chan Zacarias and it is a pleasure to tell you a little about my life. I turned 13 years old in November and fortunately, I am healthy. I want to open my heart and tell you that my father abandoned my family and me a few months ago. We are passing through a challenging situation, so I ask you to pray for us. My mom is doing her best to support my brother and me economically. She is healthy and works as a domestic employee, but she does not earn enough to afford our schooling. Therefore, I had to drop out of school this year. I stay home and help my mom to clean our house and look for firewood. In my free time, I like playing soccer with my friends.

We do not have enough space at home to raise domestic animals or grow products like other families. We used to attend a Christian Church, but we stopped doing it when my father left our house to form another family. Let me tell you that a teacher of the LW evangelism team shared the gospel and encouraged my mom and me to seek God again. I appreciate the time she dedicated to us. Let me tell you that LW has also blessed my family with food and annual Christmas gifts. At the feeding program, my favorite food is fried chicken.
