My Story

Hello, my name is David Chiquita Calachij. I am 11 years old this year and I am in 4^th grade. After I go to school in the morning, I go out to look for firewood for the house, and then I do my homework from class. On the weekends I like to shepherd the sheep and take care of them. I love going to the feeding program every week to eat delicious food. Living Water has been a blessing to me and my family through the meals each week and the free medicines when we need it. My favorite food from the program is the fried chicken. I want to tell you abouot my family. My father was Juan Carlos Chiquita. He passed away a few years ago. My mother’s name is Anita Calachij Barrera, and I am so sad to say that she has also passed away just a few months ago. Now, my brother and I live with my maternal grandmother. Her name is Santos Barrera Ruiz, and she is 59 years old. She stays at home and does work around the house.

She also raises hens, pigs, and sheep, so she can sell them when we need money. As a family, our greatest needs are clothing and groceries. Thank God, my aunt, Maria Calachij Barrera shares her house with us and even helps us economically with our living expenses. We attend the Assembly of God Church and my grandmother is very strong in her faith. She was grateful for the encouragement from the LW evangelism teacher to continue seeking God and growing in her faith. She is the one who shared this information with the Living Water Staff so you can know a little bit about me. Thank you for reading my information today.
