My Story

Hello, my name is Emely Jimena Garcia Riz. I am 12 years old this year and I attend school as a 5^th grader. I love going to the feeding program each week, because they have blessed my family with the meals they provide. My favorite food to eat there is the chicken and soup. On the weekends I help with the housework, and I love to play with my sisters. My mother’s name is Maria Riz Garcia. She is a stay-at-home mom, and she also raises chickens and goats to sell in the market. My dad is Gerardo Garcia De La Cruz.

He works as a farmer and laborer. I love the Christmas celebration at the end of the year, because we do fun dances and games, and I love when we receive our gift. As a family, we attend the Methodist Church, and my mother serves regularly by directing the services. She is very strong in her faith and sure of her salvation. Our prayer request is that God will continue to provide for us what we need to eat, get dressed, and work each day. I say goodbye now, but I thank you for reading about me today.
