My Story

Many greetings and blessings to you and your loved ones. It’s your sponsored child, Yolanda Maribel Riz de la Cruz with updated information. I am pleased to write to you again today. I am 10 years old now, and I am in the third grade. I go to school in the mornings and help my mother with housework in the afternoons. I love going to the Living Water feeding program each week to eat a delicious lunch. My favorite food to eat there is the fried chicken. My family and I are very grateful for the work of Living Water and the blessing they have been to us by providing these meals and free medicine when we need. I also love the Christmas celebration we do at the end of the year. My favorite parts are when we receive our gift and when we play games. I want to tell you a little bit about my family now. My father’s name is Agustin Riz Simaj. He lives and works in the USA. He went 7 years ago to the States, and he is now working in a barber shop. He sends money back to us every two weeks. My mother’s name is Candelaria de la Cruz Ruiz. She stays at home to take care of the housework and chores. She also raises chickens to sell so she can make a little extra money.

We also grow corn at home and cultivate it for our own consumption. I go to church with my family at Liberty Church of Living Water Ministries. My mother is a strong believer in Christ, and she prays that we would come to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior one day as well. I am so grateful for your love and support for me. You make this possible, so I thank you for everything. I hope you will pray for my father’s safety in the US and for our studies. I love you and I wish you many blessings in the name of Jesus.
