My Story

Hello!

I am Madely Eliana Riz Garcia, and it is a blessing to write this letter for you. Let me tell you that I am 10 years old, and I am a fourth-grade student. Currently, I receive face-to-face classes daily from Monday to Friday. Thank God, I am doing a good job at school now. Let me tell you that my father struggles a lot for our family working as a mason. My older brother also helps our family with his income by working as a farmer. While they work outside the house, my mother works hard doing the chores, preparing our meals, and taking care of my younger siblings. Thankfully, my whole family and I are healthy. After our daily routines, we take advantage of the afternoons to enjoy a snack together. Although the pandemic has been hard with lower opportunities for work and economically, we have been able to celebrate Christmas. We usually celebrate it at home as a family and prepare delicious tamales (it is a typical dish). My family and I continue attending the Assembly of God Church. When the pandemic spread everywhere, we felt sad because we could not go to church to worship our Heavenly Father. Fortunately, it is open again, and we usually walk five minutes from where we live to be there.

We live in our own house. It is made of adobe with a tile ceiling and a dirt floor. It has three rooms, a separate kitchen, electricity and running water. Fortunately, our home is in good condition. Let me tell you that Living Water has been a great blessing for lots of children like me. The staff gave us food parcels which helped us so much in the most challenging moments of Covid-19. Because of these and many other things you have done for me, I want to express my gratitude. I pray God pays you back greatly for being a good-hearted person. After a long time closed, the feeding program is open again. I am the happiest teenager because I missed attending the program and enjoying the food that cooks prepare. My siblings and I usually take a bus for 15 minutes to be in the program. Finally, I want to tell you that my mother gave this information to an evangelism team member to share with you. I leave you now, but I hope to hear from you next time.

From the bottom of my heart,

Madely Eliana Riz Garcia
