My Story

Special regards from Guatemala City! My full name is Andre D´Alessandro Escobar Gomez, and it is such a blessing to share some of my latest news with you through this letter. I am 14 years old and I am really surprised how fast the time has passed since my mother enrolled me at the feeding program about twelve years ago! My family and I are really grateful to LW-Adopt A Child for blessing many families like ours. We encourage you and all those who make the labor of this organization possible to continue building the kingdom here in Guatemala. My mother received benefits at the feeding program when she was a child, too. She remembers that Saturdays were special because she gathered with other teenagers to receive Bible lessons at the park and then, they had lunch. She told me that was really nice!

Today, I also can participate in Bible classes. I like them because there are always new stories. I am in eighth grade at school and I like the hot weather because it is perfect to go to the pool. About my health, I tell you that I got measles and dengue in April. I was really sick for fifteen days, but my parents took care of me and thank God, I am doing well now. I am grateful to the Lord because my parents are hardworking people who strive to move forward every single day. My father is a messenger and my mother sells assorted products in the market. I help my mother to do some chores like cleaning the dog’s house and running errands. About our spiritual life, I tell you that brother Juan Carlos (a member of the LW staff) shared the gospel and invited us to attend a church since we still do not do it. We are grateful for the time he dedicated to us. Please pray to God that we make the decision to look for spiritual support at a church someday. In advance, thank you so much!
