My Story

Hello! It is a pleasure to greet you from the beautiful Duenas town. My full name is Edgar Estuardo Hernandez Otzin. Fortunately, I am a healthy 17-year-old boy. What about you? I am glad because I am in ninth grade this year. I attend school from 1:00 to 6:00 pm. I usually do many things on weekends, but what I enjoy the most is playing soccer with my friends in the afternoon. I am grateful to be part of LW-Adopt A Child because this project has blessed me with food and medicine. I like having shredded beef with red sauce for lunch at the feeding program. Helping the LW staff as a volunteer catches my attention, and I would like to do it someday. Last year, I celebrated Christmas at the feeding program again. I enjoyed the party so much. My favorite part was the drama performed by the staff and volunteers.

Now, I ask you to pray for the health of my father. Unfortunately, his kidneys are not working well, and due to his condition, he has to go to the hospital three times a week for hemodialysis. He is a brave man, and despite his health situation, he does his best at work to help our family economically. He works alongside my mom in the maintenance area of a residential compound. Therefore, they travel to Antigua every day. As for my mother, let me tell you that she is in good health. My parents and I have attended the Catholic Church in our town for about three years. I know Jesus is my Savior, and I am grateful to the LW staff for encouraging me to continue persevering at church. To end this letter, let me tell you that we have one dog at home as a pet.
