I am glad to greet you through this. I am Roxana Soledad Tum Chan, and I am twelve years old. This year I am in sixth grade, and currently, I am receving face-to-face classes at school from Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. Thankfully, I have been doing well so far. In the afternoons, I help my mom with the chores at home. I missed the delicious food from the feeding program during the time it was closed due to the pandemic. It is open again, thank God, so I get there in a quarter of an hour by walking and three minutes by minibus. My father does farm work to support my family economically. My mom stays home doing the chores and raising some chickens to get some money for our household expenses. As a family, we spend time together in the afternoons, and we talk. We celebrated Christmas with the whole family and prepared delicious tamales. Currently, we are attending the Catholic Church at Zacualpa, located three minutes away from home by minibus. We are happy because the church is operating normally, thank God.
We own a house with three rooms and a separate kitchen. The house is made of bricks, the roof of cement and the floor of granite. It has electricity and running water. The house condition is good. Due to the pandemic, the prices of the products have been affecting us. We pray that God will continue to provide faithfully as he has done. I take this time to thank the feeding program for the grocery bags we received when we needed them most. It was all a great help for my family and me because food supplies such as corn are a great need at home, and so is soap. Thank you very much for blessing us. As for health, my brother is sick with hepatitis. He has already visited the doctor and is under a medical treatment, but he has not gotten better. To finish, I want you to know that dad gave this information to an Evangelism team member to share with you my last news. Thank you for reading this. I hope to hear from you soon.
Affectionatelly,
Roxana Soledad Tum Chan
