My Story

Hello! I greet you from the bottom of my heart and wish you many successes in your daily activities. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. My name is Sheny Fabiola Gonzales Tiam and I am 17 years old. Unfortunately, this year I am not studying due to a lack of financial resources, but I am helping my mother with chores at home. My dream is to become a nurse. I speak Spanish where I live, but I would like to learn the Quiche Mayan dialect in order to have good communication with others. My favorite celebrations of the year are Christmas and Easter because we spend a good time with the family. I like to drink peach juice. What I like to do for my birthday is to be grateful to God for a new year of life. Among sports, I prefer soccer. We grow corn, black beans, and bananas for our family's consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are corn and groceries. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Rosa Tiam De La Cruz.  She is 42 years old. Currently, she does chores at home. Moreover, she raises hens and sheep to sell and get some income in order to support the family. My father`s name is Sebastian Gonzalez De La Cruz. He is 47 years old. As you know, he was living and working in Spain, but he could not get a good job there and he decided to return to Guatemala, but he left for the United States 3 months ago in order to look for a good job.  Currently, he earns a living by working as a mason in order to pay the money that he borrowed for his trips. At the moment, he sends us a little money for our home expenses every month. I want to let you know that we continue attending the Adventist Church every Wednesday and Sunday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team for the encouraging words to my mother during the visit, so we are sure of our salvation in Jesus. My family and I are grateful to Living Water because thanks to your support I receive medical and dental attention in the clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child.  May God take care of you everywhere you are!

Huge hugs,

Sheny Fabiola Gonzales Tiam
