Hello! I feel so happy to write you this letter and tell you a little about me. I am Pedro Calachij Gutierrez and I am thirteen years old. This year, I am in the 6th grade at school, and I am receiving face-to-face classes every day. It has not affected me because I am learning well. I help with the small jobs at home, and I am working as a day laborer. I contribute with the expenses. I receive delicious food in the feeding program and when it was closed due to the pandemic, I missed attending it and the food. but fortunately, the program is open again, and I walk about ten minutes to arrive. My father works as a farmer and as a day laborer. He also goes to pick coffee beans at the coast in order to supply our needs. My mother is a housewife, and occasionally, she works as a day laborer. Sometimes, we meet as a family and share a homemade snack in the afternoon. We all are in good health.
My family and I attend Church of Christ, and it is located about five minutes from our house. We do not celebrate Christmas for lack of money. We had services closed door when our church was closed due to the pandemic. We have our own house, and it is made of wooden boards, tin sheet roof and dirt floor. We have one room and a kitchen. There is running water at home, but we do not have electricity. We use candles at nights. The roof is in bad condition because the tin sheets are deteriorated. Our needs are groceries. At the beginning of the pandemic, it affected us because the prices of the products increased. We received groceries bags from Living Water, and it was a great help because it arrived in the moments that we needed it the most. I want you to know that my mother gave this information about me. I thank you for taking the time to read my letter. May God bless you and take care of you always!
Pedro Calachij Gutierrez
